Siege needs to be rebalanced/reworked #5148

Describe what you would like changed, and why.

The thing about a lot of mindustry maps is that there is always more than 1 "correct way" to beat them, however siege both locks you out of using air units and crab units (because their health is too low against scathe missiles) wich forces you to use tanks, and there aren't 80 ways to use tanks to beat it so you just have to do the same thing each time. There are also weird things with unit pathfinding, for exemple on every one of my previous attempts the Anthicus units went down the right prong, but on my last one on mobile they went down the left one for some reason i don't understand, causing me to lose the sector because my defenses weren't ready for an anthicus on the left.

Describe the changes you want to propose. Include possible alternatives.

First off: Unban air units and add air defense throughout the bases. Second off: maybe use a world processor or something to make the unit pathfinding more consistent so it's actually possible to do the usual lose-learn-change strategy-win that's always done when playing this game usually. Third off: maybe make thorium a bit easier to obtain without having to manage to build an anti-scathe-missile defense so this way it'll be more viable to use units like anthicus or precept in it (and obviate ofc), this way it'll allowed for more varied strategies to be used and will make for a more enjoyable sector.

I SWEAR IF I SEE A SINGLE COMMENT SAYING I JUST HAVE A MASSIVE SKILL ISSUE I'LL LET YOU KNOW I BEAT IT ONCE ON PC AND IT WASN'T FUN.

interesting, i have no idea how this will actually impact the sector

In addition, you can just ditch the left side of your base and focus on making defenses only over there, since most resources are on the right.

the problem is that you still gotta defend the left side, wich is nigh-impossible to do when the anthicuses suddenly decide they don't wanna go to the right anymore for whatever reason.

just place afflicts, and i thought you had actual non difficulty based complaints

excuse me but it's also a consistency problem. The anthicus always went to the right side during every other attempt i made, and then they suddenly decide they wanna go left.

i think it's more so rng than map design, + build afflicts on both sides

you'd need to set up surge for that and it's much better to use the slag for heating cyanogen synth than for surge

dude, who said surge actually needed that much slag, Bruh, now THIS is a skill issue, just pump more slag, or use other heating, look the oxide is right there to use for heating, like you should never have heating being limited, slag is way more than you would ever reasonable need, like i never had to pick what to heat when playing erekir, like ever, heating is just part of the resource consumprion more than a resource of itself really

EDIT: yeah your name is really accurate

screw you slag is very limited in siege and so i don't use it on surge because i focus on building a defense with sublimates (wich was how i beat it on my puter) and then make vanquishes on the right to then go up and back down the left destroying everything, and since that strategy worked, it should work again the second time you do it right? WRONG, ANTHICUS GOES DOWN THE LEFT! and also heating an afflict is very costly in terms of energy and so it'd be impossible to do it and still have enough power for a tank assembler at good enough efficiency that it doesn't take a decade to beat.

actual skill issue, 2 measly puddles of slag can be used for like a dozen pumps, also you are supposed to defend both sides, not just one, BUT YOU DIDN'T and now you are blaming the MAP, heating up an afflict is not even half a pyrolysis generator's worth of power, and that's with EHEATERS, no one is forcing them, i literally never had any issues building, surge and vanquish while having 2 Eheated afflicts running at almost all times, and also having t2 production

I DID DEFEND ON BOTH SIDES I USED SUBLIMATES WITH OZONE ON THE LEFT AND 2 SUBLIMATES WITH OZONE+1 WITH CYANOGEN ON THE RIGHT BECAUSE I THOUGHT THE DAMN ANTHICUS WOULD GO DOWN THE RIGHT, ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAD MORE TURRETS ON THE LEFT. AND I ALREADY TRIED TO USE LOCI TO BEAT IT, BUT IT'S NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO MANAGE TO DO SOMETHING THAT CAN HOLD AGAINST SCATHE MISSILES WHILE I BUILD A CORE AND THORIUM PROD. I ALREADY TRIED IT AND IT WAS EVEN HARDER THAN JUST STAYING LOW AND USING THE LAUNCH RESSOURCES TO BUILD VANQUISH PROD.

locus + cleroi to vanquidh is easy, and you shouldbe using afflicts, also you must've defended them well my guy, seriously siege is one of the easiest sectors in the lategame, if not the easiest, just use the slag to make afflict's surge and pyrolysis to power them, it's not that hard, why do you think that 2 ozone sublimates should hold against an extreme threat sector

idk siege was hard when I first landed on it, then I took the games advice and immediately built vanquish and then it was just a waiting game of spamming cleroi and locus as defense.

Countering the scathe was tough, and definetely slowed me down immensely, but the vents allowed me to keep my units up.

but yeah I agree why are flying units banned ):

(I guess its to showcase scathe, which I mean, yeah its a great introduction not knowing where the turret is, and pushing forward just to not see the turret responsible and needing to exploit scathes pathetically slow attack speed and low building damage)
