Update persistence object while using GUI #28

It seems that when using the GUI, the persistence object isn't updating the new slices. We need to figure out how to do that so we're not unnecessarily slicing. This isn't a huge deal with small videos and multiprocessing, but single-processed slicing or operating on longer videos means it's wasted time

I think this was just another manifestation of #12 , so I'm gonna mark this as closed and done for now.
