Hi,
Yes spatial region is an independent continuant. But the question is a good one because it doesn't behave in the same way as other independent continuants. In fact I've had discussions with Barry on this matter, as the repeated exclusion of spatial region in expressions involving independent continuants suggests that it might not be one. In current BFO there's no other place I could suggest putting it. I do think it's a matter that perhaps should be addressed in a future version.
Let me know if that answers the question, or close the issue if you are satisfied. Happy to discuss it more, but I always prefer the submitter of an issue closes it when they are satisfied it's been addressed.
Several relations have a domain or range of “independent continuant that is not a spatial region.“
Meaning “material entity or immaterial entity”?
”spatial region is an independent continuant”
is not defined or elucidated.Either the elucidation for spatial region is incomplete, or the domain and/or range is off for several relations.
