Flagged by Windows Defender as well.
sigh Every time I build a new installer, a few of the AV engines inevitably flag it.
DrWeb - Evidently their AV program blocks anything that has bundled the nssm tool. This is amusing and frustrating, because one of the purposes of the Syncthing installer is to run it as a service (this is kind of the whole point). Their answer is that each user needs to disable this flag in their AV. This false positive is silly, but it is what it is. I don't recommend their software as it flags tools like this unnecessarily.
ESET-NOD32 - I've sent an email to the vendor to request they remove this detection.
BkAv Pro - I've sent an email to the vendor to request they remove this detection.
Microsoft - I submitted the installer as a false positive.
Bottom line: The installer is not malware and is fully open source.
Closing this issue as these detections are false-positives.
