Hello there 👋 Thanks for submitting your first issue to the Pi-Apps project! We'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, we encourage you join our Discord server, where you can ask any questions you might have.
Please respond as soon as possible if a Pi-Apps maintainer requests more information from you. Stale issues will be closed after a lengthy period of time with no response.
Try running these commands in a terminal to see if more output shows what the problem could be.
version=v1.17.1
git clone https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp.git --recurse-submodules --shallow-submodules --depth=1 -b "$version"
If it fails, please post the full output here. Please note that I tried this myself and on my system it worked. If it works on your side but is still failing from the Pi-Apps installer, that would be useful to know and investigate further.
Cloning into 'ppsspp'...
fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly
fatal: early EOF
fatal: index-pack failed
Failed to clone the repo
cloning fails such as the above are internet errors (either with your ISP or your local connection itself (eg: wifi/ethernet home network)). There is nothing at pi-apps that can be done for such an issue. Some BAD ISPs (eg: cellular connections) may limit the maximum packet length allowed causing these errors, it is their issue and you will need to resolve it with them using their methods.
