Party member removal is buggy

While creating my scenario, I decided that I want a party member to leave
the player's party. Attached is the scenario I used to test my code.

When the code attempts to remove Vurgans from the party, he is still kept
on the bar at the bottom of the screen. However, mousing over the party on
the map and visiting the stats screen both show that he should be gone from
the party.
