Segmentation fault on startup #74

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run "src/silvertreerpg" from the source directory.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When I run the command, a new window pops up, presumably a normal game
screen. Near the top, there is a character dialog box. I think the portrait
is a guy in a helmet. I see text appearing in the box, but before it
finishes typing, the window disappears, and I see "Segmentation fault" at
the bottom of the terminal.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.2.1
Ubuntu 8.04

Please provide any additional information below.
I've attached the stderr and config.log.

This was a driver issue
