Legend problem with too many samples #21

The legend just keeps going down vertically. It should begin making another column to the right when it senses it's below the length of the figure

At the moment there is not enough room to add a second column, at least with the default legend labels. Maybe we should scale it down instead? Or possibly combine the two ideas and add a column when it's scaled enough that there is enough room.
