Red Storm Rising - Free Roam No Contacts (Very Frequent) #192

I looked through the previous issues and noticed that other users have had this issue, but mine seems to be VERY frequent (almost every time).

One of Two scenarios happens: 1) A few contacts spawn at the start of the campaign, I engage the contacts, then after a few encounters there are none left and the only option I have is the insertion mission at Leningrad. (Rare)

2) No contacts spawn at all, even after waiting 15+ minutes and allowing multiple "News Headlines" to come and go. (Extremely Frequent)

Something that may play into it, and I will do some testing with different vessels, is that I like playing the Improved Virginia Class which has the Swimout Torpedoes. I've also noticed that when initially arming this vessel, sometimes I cannot swap what's in my torpedo tubes until I'm either in a mission or re-load the save file. (Unfortunately re-loading the save never seems to fix the "no contacts" issue.)

I will see if using other vessels has any impact on this bug and let you know what I find. I'm aware that you've mentioned this bug is difficult to find, so with any luck this might help narrow the search.

Moving up and down the Norway coast does seem to help a bit. Thats where a few of the waypoints are. Also, don't speed around the map when doing this, just go at slow speed. Seems to work fine for me when doing this.

I'll leave this open for a while, even thought its a duplicate issue.

Thank you, I'll try doing that as well. I've started a new campaign in the seawolf and didn't load any Swimouts. Seems ok so far but I've only had 1 encounter. I'll keep updating as much as I can.
