One Year Anniversary! #55

Open Phrancis opened 9 years ago

It's hard to believe we've been working on Cardshifter for a bit over a year! I would like to ask everyone about their experience(s) so far, so we can make a sort of "mural" of each other's most meaningful moments!

I did a bit of digging, and found that this room was created by @Zomis on Aug 1, 2014:

It's time to create a room for it I think :)
So that all messages are gathered at one place instead of scattered among The 2nd Monitor

A lot has happened since then. Some people left, some new faces joined. Please comment with anything you feel is noteworthy, and more importantly, what has been getting you excited about this project!

I will put this mural together and make it to where it is shown on the official website for posterity. I think we owe it to ourselves to pat each other on the back a little bit for dedicating time and energy to this wonderful project.

Everybody is so busy coding! (good thing)

I thought I would share when this project became the "real deal" for me, and not just a project that starts and dies down after a while. I don't know the exact time, but must have been right around that time. I then got to actually play the game, and, Lo and Behold, it was fun wow what a feeling!

To quote from an early contributor DaggNabbit:

IDK but if you guys let this thing fizzle out I'm personally coming by everyone's house to kick you all in the balls

I remember when the game really became moddable.

I think it was just a couple of weeks between everything being Java (remember PhrancisGame.java?), to the Groovy DSL started to work out. (https://github.com/Cardshifter/Cardshifter/issues/222)

And in between, we had semi-moddability with phrancis-cards.cards and JavaScript

@bazola @skiwi2 @marcandregirard @SirPython @jacwah I'd like to hear something from you guys too, if possible! Doesn't have to be a lot, a one-liner is fine :smiley_cat:

I want to thank everyone involved in this project. I started contributing just a few weeks ago, and I already feel like a part of the group. You've all been welcoming and friendly :heart:

It's great to see how much a few people can achieve together in their spare time, and even better to know that you've done a bit of it yourself!
