Some of these are very easy to fix; but many of them are multiple star systems, with the HIP designation referring to the whole system, and the TYC designation referring to a component of the system with the variable star designation. I'm not really sure how those should be handled.
Hmmm. At the moment if I get multiple TYC stars with the same HIP number, I'm assigning the HIP number in stars.dat to the one with the (alphabetically) earliest WDS designation, which is not entirely ideal. Maybe in such cases I should drop the HIP number entirely?
