It's perfectly reasonable to have this button but it has a couple of implications that may not be obvious: 1 if the software has crashed it can't recognise the button to send emergency stops to all locos. It must also block any incoming throttle commands from throttles or automation.
2 if the button is implemented in hardware to remove track power, this will not immediately stop locos with sustainers.
3 there has to be a plan of how to re-enable the layout.. without loss of turnout settings etc.

Title: Suggestion for new functionality
Description: Hello, First of all I would like to mention that I am not able to select software version 3.1.0. It is not in the list... I have build a nice shield for the Arduino Mega which makes it very easy to connect an LCD, an ethernet module and an H-bridge module. When all is working fine I will probably design a custom PCB for it so others can make a nice easy to built DCC++ EX base station too with minimum wiring (pictures send to Fred Decker earlier). I was thinking of one extra feature for DCC++ EX but maybe it is already possible in some way I am not aware of? I would like an emergency stop button in case the software (for example JMRI of RocRail) fails to do the same (or the computer running the software fails and trains keep running). A big red button connected to some input pin making all trains stop immediatly and interrupting the track power would be an easy thing to implement I guess? Regards, Paul
