Description: I am unable to connect to my DCC-EX Command Station, via either AP or Station Mode. The connection is visible, but the SSID is ESP_xxxxxx rather than DCCEX_xxxxxx. I have a basic DCC-EX Command Station, using an Elegoo Mega, Deek Robot Motor Shield and ESP-01S through an ESP8266 Adaptor (I am in the Uk and so the Makerfabs Wi-fi Shield is difficult to find). The Command Station works and I am able to run trains via EX-WebThrottle. Using EX-WebThrottle, I get the following log on start up. [CONNECTION] Serial connected [RECEIVE] [RECEIVE] License GPLv3 fsf.org (c) dcc-ex.com LCD0:DCC++ EX v4.1.2 > < LCD1 [RECEIVE] :Lic GPLv3 ++ Wifi Setup Try 1 ++ > < Wifi Check: [+IPD\0] > [RECEIVE] [RECEIVE] TIMEOUT after 200ms [RECEIVE] [RECEIVE] Wifi Check: [\r\nOK\r\n\0] [RECEIVE] [RECEIVE] TIMEOUT after 200ms ++ Wifi [RECEIVE] Setup NO AT [RECEIVE] ++ ++ Wifi Setup Try 2 ++ > < Wifi Check: [+IPD\0] > [RECEIVE] [RECEIVE] TIMEOUT after 200ms Wifi [RECEIVE] Check: [\r\nOK\r\n\0] [RECEIVE] [RECEIVE] TIMEOUT after 200ms ++ [RECEIVE] Wifi Setup NO AT ++ ++ Wifi Setup Try 3 ++ [RECEIVE] [RECEIVE] Wifi Check: [+IPD\0] > [RECEIVE] [RECEIVE] TIMEOUT after 200ms [RECEIVE] Wifi Check: [\r\nOK\r\n\0] > [RECEIVE] [RECEIVE] TIMEOUT after 200ms ++ Wifi Set [RECEIVE] up NO AT ++ * MotorDriver currentPin=A1, sen I have successfully updated the firmware using the link to the Geoff Bunza article, but with no obvious change. Also possibly of note, the ex-installer is not able to upload to the Arduino when the ESP-01S chip is connected. I don't know if this is normal or expected. I am at Tinkerer level, but new to DCC-EX, Ardunio and model railways in general. Thanks in advance, Matt
Your command station has not been able to talk to the es wifi chip.
This is often because your wiring between the cs and wifi chip is not crossed tx->rx
