5 months ago If the decoders are that old then they might be programable by DCC programming methods called "register" or "paged". Sorry, DCC-EX can neiter, only "direct" which has been around since year 2000 or so. Or it might even be decoders for another format like Minitrix SX or Fleischmann FMZ or Zimo's system. Many manufacturers started with different systems back then until all but Märklin gravitated towards DCC.
As these decoders otherwise are very limited (like 14 speedsteps that DCC-EX also can't do) I recommend that you get modern decoders instead. The slow speed experience will as well be different with new decoders, probably heaven vs hell.
