A few ideas:

  1. Upload should not need to be done, except when changing settings.
  2. When wifi settings are changed, a power cycle is needed for the new settings to take effect.
  3. Explain: on my phone i am running jmri (did you mean Engine Driver app)
  4. When using Engine Driver, you may need to type the IP and Port in order to connect. Sometimes the MDNS may not appear.
  5. In AP mode, the phone must connect to DCC-EX before using Engine Driver.
  6. If using STA mode WiFi: Once the DHCP address is assigned, reserve that address in your router if you want to use the JMRI Ethernet/WiFi connection option.
  7. Please attach a copy of the startup logs.
  8. Remove the shields. Then assemble the stack again. This might help if pin connections are not tight.
