Please ensure 1 you have placed the loco on the main track, not the programming track. 2 you have turned on the main track eg with command <1> or <1 MAIN> 3 you are using the correct loco address in your throttle comnands.

Hi,
I am very new to DCC but I have experience of control systems and API programming. I purchased a Arduino Mega and Motor shield kit and installed DCC++EX (3.0.1) and JMRI (4.20). As far as I can tell it is working, JMRI DecoderPro can see the DCC++controller. The track power can be turned on and off, I can see the LEDs on the motor shield and a LED buffer stop on the track responding.
I also purchased a new loco and new decoder (Bachmann 36-566 which is the LokPilot Standard 1). Using JMRI I am able to read and write data to the decoder. The changes are saved and can be read back. The problems start when I use the throttle - the loco doesn't respond to any F buttons or to the throttle slider. I have also tried sending throttle commands from the serial monitor in Arduino IDE without success. The loco runs on a DC track with the decoder installed. I'm a bit stumped as each part seems to be working separately but not together. Can you suggest any tests I can do? Any help gratefully received.
Many thanks,
Peter.
