There can be some confusion when sending turnout commands to DCC connected turnouts. The log from the serial monitor should show what commands are being sent/received. Are you sending DCC accessory commands <a ....> or are you sending DCC-EX turnout commands <T ...> .. either can be used. If you are sending DCC-EX turnout commands, then the turnout will need to be defined. We recommend defining them in myAutomation.h, where descriptions can be included. https://dcc-ex.com/ex-rail/EX-RAIL-command-reference.html#turnout-id-addr-sub-addr-description-define-a-dcc-accessory-turnout-point
Another method to define turnouts: https://dcc-ex.com/reference/software/command-reference.html#defining-setting-up-a-turnout-point
You may benefit from an interactive discussion on the DCC-EX discord server. https://dcc-ex.com/support/index.html#preferred-option-discord

Title: Turn out commands
Description: I am trying to operate a turnout decoder provided by rails of Sheffield but designed by DCC Concepts Ltd. I am having success with my own computer operated controller operating trains with sound OK. But the turnout controller does not work although I am getting success messages back when I send instructions. DCC Concepts ask if I am using NMRA DCC compliant address commands. Could you please tell me if the commands in the turnout section of your documentation is NMRA compliant? Unlike your documentation when I search the NMRA material I am just confused! Thanks
