The Daily #60

Lots happening each day. Good time to up the coordination. Striking a balance between enough to get in a row but not too much that it cripples progress is always a tightrope.

Proposing that @ajlennon ,@amcewen, @mjamjoum and I update for now—can add more as when make our first steps.

A daily look back, few key bullet points, summaries not details, surfacing key decisions made, progress, headwinds etc.

Here’s a first swing (bit of a backlog, so a few more than usual):

The position on software etc is the biggest uncertainty - I was told that it came with no PC, so how to drive it remains an unknown.  Physical commissioning should not be too difficult as it has been working recently, although from the description received it may make more sense to use the tube and supply from this machine to get Monty working ( it cannalways be reverted when Monty's own laser is repaired or if we need to give it back).  This would involve a learning curve for the Lightburn software, but Monty is large and very capable so this option should not be ruled out if it is a possibility? I already proposed that if this new laser is to be commissioned rather than cannibalised it might actually fit on the bed of Monty, allowing it to plug straight in to the extract ducting.  A suitable reservoir for cooling water will be needed, but  Does have "bin" there before......

Thanks @Sean-anotherone I kicked off an issue #86 and referenced the software Fil uses. I am happy to help setup and fiddle with any software stuff if somebody could look at physical commissioning. Over on the other issue @plastictactics mentions if DoES isn't appropriate for this Arthur has space. (And Coffee Dave is happy to help move if we need that to happen)

[Edit: He wants it back so can't cannibalise I'm afraid :)]

Sean-anotherone commented 4 years ago

As it sounds like cannibalising it to get Monty online is out, I'm happy to commission it anywhere local, a PC will be required, and a bin. Sean

ajlennon commented 4 years ago

Thanks @Sean-anotherone - will move us over to #86

16th April 2020 A quiet one for me today as I was working on other stuff.

Also heard from Prof. Mitch McEwen (no relation) at Princeton's School of Architecture that they've been cutting the design over there and it's going down well with ER doctors! image

I had the, in hindsight ridiculous, idea that I might be able to take the afternoon off. More fool me.

Mostly firefighting today

Sean-anotherone commented 4 years ago

I will be able to head over tomorrow, but not until about 4:30 or so Sean

3DCrowd (Jen is running the 3DCrowd hub in parallel to the DoES model in Dinky atm. My hope is there is a way to merge SOP, fulfilment and product with the national platform at some point - i.e. the type of thing you were talking to Cat about. This may be possible, may not be possible, or may be possible to some degree)

Thinks our fulfilment process is out ahead than others she has seen. Asked if we can set it out in a blog post to share across country and US Helpful Eng.

So we won Wave 2 of HE project submissions so are engaged with them and their folks are writing pieces on us / with us.

Seems useful to engage on the Slack there with blog posts etc. to further and promote what we're up to with fulfillment... And indeed the excellent NHS feedback on the design.

Big 1500 order in today to support all of East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen CCG. grimacingThey are desperate. @ajlennon what's happening with all the units your mates producing around Liverpool?

[Edit]

Will add to this as I have more information.

Hey team,

Finance update:

Please find attached the expense form and payroll form. Please complete the form and submit it with your expense receipts.

All expenses and payroll must be approved by a Manager (i.e. Alex, Tom or Adrian should be cc'd and they must respond back approved). Please send your payroll or your expense reimbursement form to covidliverpoolfinance@gmail.com and cc' john@doesliverpool.com.

If possible could someone please post these to the central location. I cannot as I do not have admin access and share with anyone who needs their expenses reimbursed.

Expenses.xlsx Payroll.xlsx

We look to turn around any expenses submitted now in 48 working hours.

Thank you in advance, Mazen

Hey @mjamjoum - great stuff!

Had a question in - can costs against deliveries be re-imbursed (e.g. should people keep track of mileage if they are driviving around) ?

mjamjoum commented 4 years ago

@ajlennon -why not, tell everyone to track it and we will try finding an appropriate amount to provide for people. We will see how much cash is left over at end and try to reimburse as many costs as possible

Been a while since updating here as it’s mostly been shovelling through the rinse repeat work this end. That said, new things are bubbling up, so here’s a quick teardown:

Good to see a summary. My team and I are now waiting to hear from Southport Hospital and the North Sefton GP network.

We have a huge number of nursing and care homes around here so we having been making samples bags that the team will take around the area. Luckily the 130 or so homes are tightly concentrated and I've compiled a list that includes ones we have and others have already supplied. This will be a big activity this week to ensure no one is left behind.

We've also supplied a children's home. These are difficult to reach as they do not publish where they are and come under Ofsted not CQC. My contact is trying to spread the word.

In some cases we are bypassing central co-ordination as we find people in the teams who spread the word to other teams. I was dropping off some to the Phlebotomists and got chatting to an ambo driver which led to supplying 100 to three NWAS depots.

We also have family and friends wanting to donate so I will point them to the central fund.

Have also been giving thought to using boxes in post offices etc so people can buy one and sponsor x free for care and NHS staff. Has anyone else given any thought to this?

Just want to say thanks for all the support from Does and Dave Connor.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Karl

BTW I have found the CQC site invalubale for gleaning info. You can search an area and download a spreadsheet for cleaning. You can also access individual reports to find out how many staff and beds there are etc. Also helps avoid duplicate effort if you liaise with leaders of other efforts. Cheers,
