Lux Aenigma

A short light-based puzzle game built with Python Arcade.

TL;DR: This game is broken and in early development.

I really want to try!

Have Python 3.11+
Clone the repo
Change directories into the repo
python -m venv .venv to create a venv
pip install -I . to install
luxgame to run lux

There a number of cli programs call lux so we call it luxgame to avoid conflicting with them.

Development

General

Make sure you have Python 3.11+
If your IDE has version feature checks, be sure to enable 3.11-only compatibility features

Setup

TL;DR

Make and create a venv:
- If on Python 3.12+ and using PyCharm, create .venv from an external terminal
- If your IDE / editor doesn't auto-create venvs, do whatever
pip install -Ie .
If you ignored the instructions, se next section

Python 3.12 Problems

TL;DR: Close PyCharm, delete .venv, python3.12 -m venv .venv

When do you do that? When you get something that looks like the output below.
