Can't install CFW on Dafang 2017DP3894 on 5.5.1.353 #669

Hello everyone

I really can't install the CFW on my dafang DF3 1080p. I tryed eveything. Downlaod cfw from 1.0 to 1.3, put on microsd, holdsetup button than powered and release at different times. I tried 2 different microsd from Lexar: one is 16GB the other is 8GB. Eveytime I try to flash the camera start spin in just 20seconds, and when I test the blue shining led, I don't get it. Also, passing the steps above give me no result. The camera use always the original firmware. On MiHome the camera is on firmware 5.5.1.353.

Can you give me some advice?

Maybe my DaFang is a new versione? I have bought it some weeks ago.

kakemanx commented 5 years ago

I have tried every fw there is to downgrade, but every time it makes the folder TIMELAPSE on the SD card. AFAIK this means the flash is not successful? What am i doing wrong? SD is an 8GB (tried Fat32 with the whole 8GB and formated to 512MB), i hold setup, power on, and hold for 10 seconds.. then release the setup button... (have tried more/less time pushed)

Dafang DF3-00499433

Any tips would be grately appreciated :)

rudraksh90 commented 5 years ago

I got the same issue.. I get the file: "Timelapse" on the SD card..

I think, thus is cause, because the MAC address is blocked by Xiaomi itself, we are not able to use it..

Can anyone help please to install the CFW??

roadcutster commented 5 years ago

?? Where are RX/TX/GND access points on Wyzecam Pan(wyzecp1) board ??

I want to downgrade a new Wyzecam Pan using a serial connection. There are great photos of the Wyzecam Pan innards posted at https://fccid.io/2ANJHHWYZECP1/Internal-Photos/Internal-photo-3777255. The V2 Cam has easy to find serial hookup points, but I can't find any info on the Wyzecam Pan serial hookup and it isn't marked on the board itself like it is on the V2 Cam's board. Does anyone know where the RX, TX, and GND access points are on the Wyzecam Pan board? Does the Wyzecam Pan even have the hardware to do a serial connection?

PeterG90 commented 5 years ago

I wanted to add that the newest Wyze Cams, v2, are refusing to load or overwrite older stock firmware. If I try to flash 5.5.1.194, for example, I can put it onto the SD card, the Wyze will briefly read the card then stop. I get the yellow light, blue light for maybe 10 seconds, then it will go back to yellow.

The Wyze will load in the CFW that is available here (CFW-1.1.bin), I believe that works because I see the light flashing between blue and yellow. This is working, but because I cannot downgrade the sensor does NOT work once I load in the Hacks software. The software does boot, I can get to the HTTP and see and control the wyze fine. But the logs do show an error in finding and loading the sensor. The log shows:

2019-07-17 19:45:26.540 (1563392707.526s) [main thread ] ImpEncoder.cpp:1172 ##### sensor not found 2019-07-17 19:45:26.543 (1563392707.530s) [main thread ] ImpEncoder.cpp:1185 Found Sensor with ID:-1 2019-07-17 19:45:26.568 (1563392707.555s) [main thread ] ImpEncoder.cpp:1212 failed to AddSensor 2019-07-17 19:45:26.568 (1563392707.555s) [main thread ] ImpEncoder.cpp:834 IMP_System_Init() failed

I think this is indicative of the other users' comments. Essentially, we can load the CFW, we can load Dafang Hacks, but we CANNOT downgrade the original firmware and therefore have no sensor access. Additionally, I cannot get the original Wyze firmware to load back up at all, it seems to be "gone." I don't really care about that if I can get the CFW to work properly, but I cannot.

Have we figured out how to solve this issue related to the sensor and the fact that these new v2 Wyze Cams are refusing to look at or flash in the old firmware? What can we do to fix this?

Hi,

I just managed to install the software for Xiaomi Dafang. I believe as well that the Camera is connected, when I ping the IP address i receive response. The intresting part is that i can't connect throught the browser. I run the software version 5.5.1.243. Anybody any advice?

hellad commented 5 years ago

I had similar situation until I've downgraded firmware to demo_5.5.1.177.

ohrensessel commented 5 years ago

How exactly do I check which firmware I am on with my dafang? I did a couple of tries downgrading to .177 or .194 and I am not sure, whether these succeeded.

However, after soldering the headers for uart I could observe an error message similar to "could not mount" relating to the sdcard containing the demo.bin. Somewhere else, exFAT was mentioned in the logs. Because of that, I successfully tried it with an exFAT formatted sdcard. I am not sure on which offical firmware I was on beforehand so maybe you can just try out to format your sdcard with exFAT....

Just informing CFW bootloader flashing and CFW works on: Firmware 5.6.2.77

FAT32 with nothing but demo.bin inside. 16GB SD card. Loaded CFW afterwards and able to login into the homepage.

最新的426固件可采用328固件降级成功,步骤如下: 请您将内存卡在电脑上格式化一下FAT32格式再进行如下操作:

1、将文件demo.bin考到存储卡。

for others in a similar boat as i was: i just purchased two wyze v2 cameras from amazon and was able to get dafang-hacks working perfectly. i believe they had a 4.something firmware when they arrived.

1432fpch commented 4 years ago

Three ways ago I received two new WyzeCam V2s bought direct from Wyzecam.com so I presume this is the most recent hardware. I never bothered to boot them before flashing so I don't know the OE firmware version. Unfortunately I didn't find out about CFW until I already had flashed the 'standard' OpenIP and was looking for a solution to my problem.

I flashed them with OpenIP v5.6.1.32 and both now would appear to have the jxf23 problem. The video window in the initial page of the camera's web interface shows only a 'compass rose' and the message "Unable to load image."

If I switch on "RTSP H264 Server" under "Camera Controls" in the device's web interface, it switches itself off as soon as I close the applet.

Under Manage> Services, "rtsp-h264" shows RSTP is started but there is a red oval labeled "NOK" over the setting's label.

From dmesg: [ 26.077982] probe ok ------->jxf22 [ 26.103825] -----jxf22_detect: 432 ret = 0, v = 0x0f [ 26.104330] -----jxf22_detect: 440 ret = 0, v = 0x23 [ 26.104343] jxf22 0-0040: chip found @ 0x40 (i2c0) is not an jxf22 chip.

From logcat: D/IMP-ISP ( 207): ~~ IMP_ISP_Open[120] ~~~ E/IMP-ISP ( 207): VIDIOC_REGISTER_SENSOR(jxf22) error!

Even though I might have known before trying it that it wouldn't work on the 2nd device either I did it anyway on the odd chance that it might have been a problem with the first device's hardware.

And I can't get cfw to flash, either v1.1 or v1.3. I tried three different SD cards (my smallest is 4gb), tried re-formatting on both Win7 and Linux, tried creating only a single 512mb partition on the card(s). In all cases, the LED remains steady yellow.

So I tried re-flashing the OEM firmware (v4.9.4.28) but it doesn't work either. Again, I tried three different cards using both the entire card and only a single small partition.

Same story with the demo.bin in the dafang328.zip that q442333521 offers. Doesn't flash.

Also tried a factory reset. Didn't work either.

About five seconds after applying power (on either device) I hear a soft click. Is this relevant to the flashing, as in I should release the button after (or before) the click?

sifus commented 4 years ago

Hi,

Same problem on dafang (hack don't work) but resolve with antoher SD Card..

arnoldklomp commented 4 years ago

Just managed to install it on a xiaofang , how ever the process was different . When i installed the first ( demo.bin) the led behaved different then the installation guide said. I hold the setup button for 10 seconds while power on. Then the blue led lid up solid. After a while it started blinking orange . At that point it was done and i insert the mod firmware and powered up my device again. Suprisingly it worked .

So iff u think the first part failed because the install guide says diffirent things.... just try the next step.... worked for me...

Ps used an 8gb sd card formated as fat ( done on mac) , i was running the latest firmware, as i could not update it true xiaomi app ( it said no updates found)

sifus commented 4 years ago

It's good for me now. but sorry i don't understand why ... i tried several times and at one point it worked ..

Hi, I have managed to install the demo and the mod version on my camera. i see the camera in my network but i can´t access it when i put the IP in the browser. Does anybody has any recommendation? I have tried multiple things.

Foden7 commented 4 years ago

I see this occasionally when the demo.bin really hasn't been applied properly, normally when I am impatient. Double check that you wait long enough for it to be applied and that the settings you changed for your network etc are all correct. Check the sdcard doesn't have any issues either

kakemanx commented 4 years ago

Worth noting that Wyze themselves have a beta firmware that provides RTSP, but is being developed slowly and seperately from the main branch. https://support.wyzecam.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026245231-Wyze-Cam-RTSP. It works great but I'm not a fan of Beta software

I set an IP reservation in my router for each camera based of the MAC on the bottom of the cameras. I use the demo.bin from here along with the Xiaomi-Dafang-Hacks files. Using an 8GB FATY32 sdcard with only the demo.bin on it i insert the sdcard into the camera. Whilst pushing in the button on the bottom i power on the camera. Wait until the light changes colour and then leave it for 5 mins before powering it off and removing the sdcard. Whilst waiting i get another FAT32 sdcard and copy the files from the firmware_mod folder of Xiaomi-Dafang-Hacks, editing 'wpa_supplicant.conf' to match my network and 'hostname.conf' to match my camera description. See attached zip, i have renamed the relevant files to remove the .dist suffice. Pop in the sdcard and whilst pushing in the button on the bottom i power on the camera. Leave it alone until i can access it via its IP address. Once its accessible i run through the System / Update and change the default password (default root:ismart12)

Hello,

I'm planning to buy a camera but I'm not sure which ones are supported since it will probably be a recent firmware.

So far, I've selected 3 models :

Xiaomi Mi Home Security Camera 360° 1080P (https://www.mi.com/global/camera-360) Wyze Pan Xiaomi Dafang

I want to be able to inject the custom firmware and manage the device with Home Assistant.

Ok, let's assume this video is not from a shill/influencer, there are one or two things that bothers me :

Because as I said Wyze is now offering a RTSP firmware, so I don't really see any difference between the two except for the 14 days cloud storage on Wyze and the RJ45 port on the sonoff.

He also talks about the Amcrest camera at the end, but I'm not sure it will offer much more either.

I will definitely not buy a camera if I'm stuck with an OEM firmware or unable to install it on a wall mount. I will probably not buy it, nobody is using it, nothing about its reliability, you just have thrown a youtube video from a guy who has connected it on HA 2 days ago, not convincing. Sorry.

Have a look at openfang, it's a fork from here but completely open source.

Working well for me. no problem at all. Dafang latest Firmware 426 + 128G MicroSD card. Formatted to FAT on mac, no partition. cfw-1.3.bin Cannot remember how light changed, just do it step by step.

fredless commented 4 years ago

For what is it worth, wanted to add my experiences here. I just bought 3 WyzeV2 cams (white, with jxf23 sensors) direct from Wyze. The literal first thing I did with them was to install CFW. Was able to do the CFW and then boot them into this mod without any issue. Used Patriot 32GB SDs, they came with an empty FAT32 - didn't even have to format those.

So all I had to do was copy files, modify the network particulars, then press and hold buttons and wait in the semi-precise sequences described in the install instructions. Was my first time working with the DafangHack, and all 3 worked the first time through. It was almost too easy.

I just flashed nine, received new few weeks ago. It came with 5.5.1.228 and I updated it to 5.5.1.441.

I was able to follow the custom firmware procedure without problems and now I have the dafang-hacks linked in the walkthrough.

I think that firmware 5.5.1.441 has no limitations.

Also: before flashing it with dafang-hacks I could not get Xiaomi Home to connect and get images from the camera, even if it could update the firmware!

I had recently got Wyze Cam V2. Came with 4.9.1.76. Installed into Wyze App and instructed it to not update FW when asked. Successfully installed CFW, which now reports 4.9.1.60 in Wyze App. Just curious which of these it is possible to use with CFW, and/or update "original" FW image with Wyze Cam V2 Firmware lists following: UPDATE 29-Dec-2018: Added 4.9.3.64

  • [x] 2018/12 4.9.3.64 - 29-Dec-2018: flashes CFW normally, according to below
  • [ ] 2018/10 4.9.2.52 - does not flash CFW, according to above
  • [ ] 2018/09 4.9.2.42
  • [x] 2018/07 4.9.2.18 - DOES flash CFW after downgrade to 4.9.2.18-1 from 4.9.2.52, according to above
  • [x] 2018/06 4.9.1.76 - came with my Cam V2, did flash CFW based on 4.9.1.60
  • [x] 2018/04 4.9.1.60 - assume DOES flash
  • [ ] 2018/04 4.9.1.42
  • [ ] 2018/04 4.9.1.34

For now, I think I will not "upgrade" Wyze FW until this issue is resolved.

Hey guys... Soooo.. just to confirm, the latest official FW from wyzecam is compatible with dafang hacks? I'm about to buy another wyzecam pan/V2 and want to make sure I can set it up with dafang.

I'm just confused that wyzecam would take away the functionality and then put it back in...

Do you mean the ones from the SD once the firmware is installed? Or the ones that I have in the SD of 4GB?

Running for a year now. Tried to update from november 2019 release to current. Doesn't want to start up anymore. Staying on older hack.

I have a dafang (tested with all firmwares until the last one) and everything works perfectly for me, but in synology it does not show an image from the web interface, however from DS Cam, it works perfectly. What can this error be caused by? licenses? I had 2 and I removed a camera to put this.

I haven't been successful installing the microSD bootloader on a Wyze Cam V2. I start out by downgrading the firmware on the camera to 4.9.3.64 because the discussion above says that firmware version works with CFW. My downgrade works. I can connect to the camera using the phone app and it reports firmware version as 4.9.3.64.

I have no trouble going back and forth between the 4.9.3.64 firmware and the latest firmware, 4.9.4.111, via the setup process, holding down setup, plugging in power. So... I at least know how to hold down the setup button and plug the camera in.....

But I can't get past the next step, installing the microSD bootloader, cfw-1.1.bin, renamed to demo.bin. I hold down the setup button and see the light change from yellow to blue, but then it changes back to yellow and stays yellow. If I unplug the power, and remove the sd card, and then plug it back in, the camera light stays yellow and I can't connect with the app.

I have no trouble restoring the camera to working order by reinstalling latest or 4.9.3.64 firmware, but I never can get the camera to work after trying to setup with cfw-1.1.bin.

I am careful about making sure the only file on the sd card is "demo.bin". I have tried both formatting the whole card and formatting just a 512 MB partition. Formatting the whole card works fine with both the 4.9.3.64 and 4.9.4.111 demo.bin files.

What am I doing wrong?

You have to install the firm "4.9.1.60", you will find it inside the original firmware folder, you can also try firmware "4.9.4.28" which is also in that folder.

sorry for my bad english, I use google translator

Thanks, but I don't know what to do next. Regarding the 4.9.1.60 "original firmware folder", I expected to see one file (that I would copy to the sd card as demo.bin) but instead I see a folder with many files. Should I copy the many files to SD card? At the wyze website there is no link to download the 4.9.1.60 file anymore.
