I'm assuming you've read issue #9. I recommend you read it again, I've edited the comment slightly and hopefully the instructions are clearer now.
git
To run the git commands you need to install git, which you can get here.
You should make sure that git is accessible through your PATH
, then run the git clone
commands in
a command prompt (cmd).
Then run the commands as specified in issue #9.
Clone or download
FeatureIf you still cannot install/run git
, you can try GitHub's Clone or download
feature, but it does not support submodules, so you will have to download dnlib
separately.
Direct links:
Extract the dnlib
.zip file in the libs/dnlib/
folder.
NOTE: You should extract the files inside of dnlib-f94ce8b43a8ee98f88017f2fc2a52c711ada7526
to libs/dnlib/
.
The directory/folder in which you need to carry out the steps is the root directory of your cloned repo/source, where UberStrok.sln
is found. You can download/extract the cloned repo/source anywhere on your PC, you could try in Documents
for example.
If you're still having troubles setting this up, hit me up here. And rest assured this was 'tested' on Windows only. :)
First:I wanna know if I can play lan on this or with bots
There are no bots in UberStrike (unless someone decides to write an AI to play as bots, which am not really interested to at the moment), and yes you should be able to play this on LAN.
How hard can it be to write an simple ai system using nav data
No idea. I never really looked into bots/AIs and am not having much time lately, but you can always make your own.
I know only how bots in counter strike work
I appreciate someone is actually actively working on a server.
Great, that should help with implementing one for UberStrike.
By the way, am not as actively working on this project as I used too, last time I touched the code was 5 months ago. Simply because I think it has accomplished its goal, which is to be working even though partially. Its missing things like Deathmatch and Team Elimination mode.
But if there are enough people interested into this project, maybe I will continue the development.
I surely am.
You shouldn't give up even if people aren't interested
Thanks for the kind words. :)
@FICTURE7 after step 2 of the issue 9 i cant understand... do i need to do the folders manually or download photon?? also how i download it??it only tells my about online app....
Well, you need to sign up/register first at Photon in order to download it. You can use the free plan, it will be fine. Once you've downloaded it, you will see its an installer. Run it and it will ask you where to install the SDK; choose thephoton
directory you created in the root directory.
Done that,no installer.redirects me to my online dashboard
Did you download the Photon OnPremise one?
I downloaded the sdk manually, but it doesn't look like what you posted in i9
I clicked on try free license. But there it tells me I already signed up..
And yes
I tried to download it.but still,no installer
Hmmm, weird, @GithubAccount453 managed to download and install SDK. By the way, do you have discord?
Did you confirm your Photon confirmation email stuff?
Nevermind, their website is pretty weird. Here is the download link to the OnPremise server SDK.
I have discord.and yes, that website is so weird
If you're having the same problem with downloading the right Photon SDK you can reach on discord at FICTURE7#9471, so we don't saturate this issue, otherwise we still continue here so other people can figure this out if they ever have the same problems.
Yes,maybe other people will read this
i really need some more detailed help on how to set this up...how i use git clone on windows first?? also what root folder should i do all those things in,i run windows, not linux, lol
