Baked Volumetric Fog is not showing up in-game. #332

Volumetric Fog shows up in Hammer, but not in-game.

To reproduce the bug. Just add any volumetric lights into your map and compile the map. It will not show up after compile.

In Hammer: sbox-dev_v64wwxm8VB

In-game: sbox-dev_fqhy8mJWqW

Can confirm not working.

samzanemesis commented 3 years ago

Could you attach your vmap file?

I don't know if this an actual issue, but it works for me if I set fogging to dynamic 🤷‍♂️

QuackCola commented 3 years ago

The issue pertains to baked volumetric fog . Dynamic works fine but is limited

KayaDLX commented 3 years ago

Yeah we figured out afterwards that it was related to baked only

QuackCola commented 3 years ago

toggling indirect lighting on the volumetric_fog_controller gets it to work but isn't desirable if you want sharp god rays casting down, from let's say a skylight.

Attached a screenshot of what that setting would do in-game, which instead of casting clean shafts of fog from the skylight above it ends up making the entire area that's exposed to the light very foggy/misty instead of just clean godrays.
