Udeler 2.0 [Feature Requests]

I am planning to make Udeler 2.0 a big release with a lot of new features and improvements. I created this thread so that you can suggest features that you would like to see in the upcoming versions. I will be releasing incremental updates in the form of beta until I feel its enough improvement over 1.6.2 and will release 2.0.

Features that will get more likes/upvotes will be given priority.

Please help me, why does not appear language subtitles, I wait for one hour but still does not see let me know why ? :(

I believe that in that case the course is not allowed to be downloaded. That happens to me as well for a number of courses and reading here that is the conclusion I came to: some courses are not downloadable. That's why I asked for a feature to be able to download these courses.

The udeler app is not displaying the subtitle drop down for a particular course but it is for displaying the dropdown for other courses. I have uninstalled and reinstall the app but the error remains. Any clue on how to resolve this?

The app is very good. I can download all my courses. But if you can add these features it would be awesome:

1. Download any lecture e.g. if a course has 20 lectures I could download any of those.
2. Provide the option to delete course from downloads.
3. Add to system tray

It seems , videos are blocked now from udemy to download. Vidoes are not getting downloaded from Udler software so please check once.

So not being able to download has only started recently. I have (for months) been able to download just about any class I wanted. For a test, I logged in and tried to download a class I have been able to download before. I get 1 of 2 errors. You don't have permission for this class (which I do on the web site, enrolled, and even started watching just to make sure) OR it gets stuck in "Building Course Data"

I think Udemy changed something recently...

Can't download at all. It won't even load the list of videos anymore. I've paid for all the courses. It just gets stuck. Let us know how we can help.

@yesskay The videos that are not set as downloadable by Udemy instructor, are not returned by the server as downloadable media therefore with no name. It is just a video source link meant to play in a video player. But there is still a way to download such videos with a name. I would have to proxy the video through another server and return it as download content with a proper name. But it won't be free of cost for me. In fact, it will cost me a considerable amount as a lot of bandwidth of the hosting server will be used. Since I am not earning anything from this project (apart from donations), It is out of scope for me to implement this feature for now. I am already paying the server charges for Udemy Web (thanks to the donations)

Please provide the code for proxying the videos through another server via configuration and provide the instructions. Those who are able to bare the costs will set-up their own proxy.

Maybe you could add some kind of proxy capability so we could just enter in a proxy server (if you give us insight into what we need) and you wouldn't fit the bill

There is a problem with download attachments.

1) ability to skip videos but only get attachments only.

Yes, you hear this right. Would be nice to provide skip videos and just get all the attachments w/o the videos. Later would be cool to be able to then download the videos without the videos (which is an existing feature).

2) Ability to retry 3 times (n times) before logging issue in file (with file name etc) and continue instead of getting suck there! As you know, people have been having this issue. I believe some of the links are invalid so this may be why the program detects an error, but this shouldn't prevent the program from going forward.

Can somebody help me out here... ive been stuck on this screen for a couple hours... i could not enable the 'UdelerAuthenticator" on chrome. is this the issue? if there is a way to bypass it please help. i was able to connect the desktop app to UDemy and was able to start downloading but im stuck in the " Building Course Data" part.. pleaseee help!

Great app, my input would be the following...

• 1080p Video downloads
• Choose what subtitles get embeded into video file option (Instead of having a separate file for subtitles)
• Number option set to total number (A setting to have video files set to the video number in the entire course and not the video number in the course section)
• Tag video file once downloaded (Title, Track Artist, Album, Year). For example

Title: Creating a database Track: 72 Artist: John Doe Album: MySQL101 Year: 2019

Would prefer to see Windows, Mac and Linux version and no web version but that is my opinion.

This tool no longer works for most classes (personal accounts and business accounts).. I don't see any more development nor fixes from the original author so I am considering this a DEAD tool/product....

I would suggest everyone not waste your time saying it doesn't work, etc.

Hello everyone. Sorry for my late response here. I do not actively maintain this project and get a very limited spare time from work. I have been receiving a lot of emails lately about the issue "Stuck on Building Course Data". I will work on the said issue this weekend. And hopefully, come up with a fix or at least an update on whats wrong and whether it can be fixed or not.

Hi @FaisalUmair First of all, thank you for this great work. My goal was to archive my courses on udemy and to be able to continue my education even when I don't have an internet connection. I was also afraid that one day in the future, udemy courses would be closed and I would not be able to access them. Your app has been a good solution for me. I learned that you can't devote time to development, but I would be happy if you could add the following features :) A separate "Courses not yet downloaded" tab (Previously downloaded courses should not be listed) Automatic download queue creation Automatic re-download feature in case of error during automatic download Including the instructor information in the folder structure of the downloaded course 1080p download Browser plugin Export the course list Ability to download automatic and custom subtitles together Ability to select multiple subtitles Ability to check for updates in courses Automatic download of course updates

I know we're asking for a lot of features, but it's great that you're working even if they're not included. Thank you again.
