☑ What needs to get done?

Update the copy and links on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion modals.

Generic copy

The Employment Equity Act is currently under review.

According to Statistics Canada’s definition,

Based on this definition I want to add the following to my profile:

Generic Links

"Employment Equity Act" https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/e-5.401/

"under review" https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/corporate/portfolio/labour/programs/employment-equity/task-force.html

A11y Considerations

  1. Links open in new tabs
  2. All links accompanied by suffix icons
  3. All icons should Alt-text read "(opens in new tab)"

Indigenous peoples

"Statistics Canada’s definition" https://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p3Var.pl?Function=DEC&Id=42927

This includes those who identify as First Nations (North American Indian), Métis and/or Inuk (Inuit), and/or those who report being Registered or Treaty Indians (that is, registered under the Indian Act of Canada), and/or those who have membership in a First Nation or Indian band. Aboriginal peoples of Canada (referred to here as Indigenous peoples) are defined in the Constitution Act, 1982, Section 35 (2) as including the Indian, Inuit and Métis peoples of Canada.”

“I am Indigenous.”

The Employment Equity Act defines visible minorities as "persons, other than Aboriginal peoples, who are non-Caucasian in race or non-white in colour". The visible minority population consists mainly of the following groups: South Asian, Chinese, Black, Filipino, Arab, Latin American, Southeast Asian, West Asian, Korean and Japanese.”
