I have talked to HHT. He says that early in the Paakitsoq drilling program, TD1 was called TD6, and TD2 was called TD7, and TD3 was called TD8. Around 1990, the naming convention changed from something based on the chronological order in which they were drilled -- or at least the planning order of shallow "TS" and deep "TD" boreholes -- to today's TD1/2/3/4/5 based distance inland from the margin. The knowledge of ice thickness at each site improved over the years. So the ice thickness first estimated for "TD8" was later refined through both radar and drilling when it later became "TD3". So, because of different reported ice thicknesses over the years, one can think that TD6/7/8 are different from TD1/2/3. But really, TD6/7/8 do not exist. The database should only include TD1/2/3/4/5 with the data and metadata reported on the final data sheet.

WARNING: TD41, TD42, TD51, TD52 depth set to 600, but it is actually just ">600". These should be discarded unless you're doing "from_surf" work.
