http://enet.bespin.org/ is at the version 1.3.17, and this repository is at 1.3.14 They install a very similar set of files.

It is very confusing.

As per the project description, this is a version of ENET which has expanded the client ID to handle more clients. This was developed as part of an academic project to use RUDP on large-scale HPC machines. If there were interest and manpower to to merge these changes with upstream, that could happen, assuming upstream was interested, but the message format necessarily changes, so it would produce version interoperability problems, so that seems unlikely.
