I didn't see like any updates in ~4 months. Can I ask what is going on? I'm just curious.

I know that's a bit of conspiracy theory, but it seems like open-sourcing engine was the way Hungarian Gajin Entertainment could license the engine to VK Group, which are going to develop open-source "Nau Engine". So they did their part of deal. Of course that's not the absolute truth - sometimes companies open-source their tech just for free, like Id Software (Id Tech up to fourth version), Amazon (O3DE) or Wolfire Games (Overgwrowth).
