Invalid Handshake, Failed to verify username #89

asdf I'm using Prism Launcher and I own Minecraft, Prism uses my legit Microsoft account to connect and play. My other friends also use Prism and it seems to not be doing this for them, I have no clue what could be the problem. image It only happens with the newest version. 4.13 and under doesn't spew out any errors.

Are you able to connect to any Minecraft servers?

I tried joining one of my friends, clicked refresh on the friends tab and it crashed. crash-2024-07-09_17.24.32-client.txt

If you can't connect to the World Host server for some reason, you cannot use the friends feature. Can you connect to a normal Minecraft server (such as Hypixel or your friends using /worldhost ip)?

(the crash is a separate bug, #87, which is already fixed)

I'm able to connect to Hypixel, nothing seems to go wrong when joining. (I don't use it, but my friends are currently offline so I can't test that.)

Go to the log tab in your Prism instance, press Upload Log, and send the link.

I'm getting this issue as well on MC version 1.20.1 Fabric. Clicking the refresh button in the friends list also crashes the game for me. crash-2024-07-14_00.26.32-client.txt

hiya, i fixed this by logging out and back into my mc account on my launcher :> i'm using modrinth, and it happened after i changed my name on my mc account. try that and see if it works :D

I authenticate you the same way a Minecraft server does. It's very weird that you're able to join Minecraft servers but not authenticate with World Host.
