• When inside a D64 image, an option to delete a file on the disk can be useful. As a player, I use the freezing option of cartridge to generate backup copy/save game. These files have a limited usage for a short time, and become useless if I do a more recent backup. The only thing I can do is deleting the D64 image, but it could be useful to only delete some files inside the backup.

• Faster Joystick Swap.If I'm not wrong, to swap the joystick, we need : power button, shift+F1, scroll down to U64 specific setting, return, go down to joystick swapper, return, choose the right option, leave the menu. How about something faster ? We have powerbutton+restore to call the cartridges menu, can’t we create powerbutton+F1 to swap joystick, for example, instant swap without even the need to enter the menu ?

• Another option for Led. In my opinion, the led should be “on” most of the time. When the led is “off”, it’s to sad, looks like a dead C64. But if the led can flash when the U64 is reading a disk or loading a program, it can be very nice. Something with the same rhythm as the floppy drive sound : a very fast flash most of the time, like modern HDD, to give some impression of speed, and a more slow, unique flash when the floppy drive makes that special sound (changing track ?). There is some approching option in the Led menu I think, but the led is "off" when there is no disk usage.

Deleting files: can be done easily if you have a fastloader rom/cartridge installed that offers a DOS wedge. e.g. in SpeedDOS it's simply @S:filename* Sure it would be even more convenient if you could do that within the Ultimate filebrowser. But you could run into trouble if the image is and stays mounted. It needs a remount that isn't done automatically by now. I got issues with copying files between D64 images using C= + C and + V

Joystick Swap: i don't own an U64E but a quick swap can be done in the menu by pressing C= + J

LED: i've a dual LED (green/red) and i found this setting to be appropriate: Top: DrvAPwr ^ DrvAAct Bot: Any Activity (green: C64 on, red blinking: 1541. orange: USB)

Hello Jumpman64, So we may ask for an Ultimate filebrowser improvement : file deleting option and automatic remount of the new D64 image :)

C= + J : Superb, thanks !

Dual LED : Well, dual Led is certainly the best option, Can this be installed on a C64 breadbin box ? I think the option I ask for : light always on, with blinking when activity is a good compromise with only one led ?

@Jumpman64 How does one get "orange" from a dual green/red LED?

@Marc91360 Yes, it is possible to replace the LED in a breadbin with a dual colour LED.

I'm still using an original red only LED and have it set to always be on, but with blinking on any activity as follows: Top: Off Bot: !(Any Act)

Is this not what you're asking for?

I'll add a +1 vote for this feature request.

@ikrananka you have to ask the LED :) I know green plus red should be yellow but it looks darker, more orange to me.

@Marc91360 did you try "IRQ line"? That will let the light blink more often while loading. Not always, depending on the loader, but it stays more on. I remember that i wasn't happy with the single LED behavior either so i built a dual one. Guess otherwise a turn off/on signal must be sent after the drive accessed a sector/track or when the drive sound played. Master @GideonZ can tell. But better get a dual LED, it looks great and makes sense. :) It's very cheap if you can DIY. There are sellers in the fb group. ...anyway i wouldn't mind to see the drive light blinking more often. (p.s. maybe you should add a "SOLVED" or "Feature already included" in front of the joystick swap chapter. )

red/green LED - orange should be possible if current can be adjusted or using PWM if independently available.

Sorry for my late reply; with these settings, my LED is always OFF

I checked with the most recent firmware (3.10a) and you can now delete a file from within a d64 disk image using the Ultimate file browser. Check √.
