Real SID not enabled (1.34) #189

I pulled my original SID and inserted it in my U64E (prototype). It's detected in the Ultimate's config menu as 6581 and siddetector.prg (https://csdb.dk/release/?id=176909) also detects it as such. (UltiSid too btw even when I use 8580 type settings.)

However I have no sound, not in the builtin player and not in any games or demos. It does still work in my original board. I tried 470 pF setting On/Off and played with the mixer settings to no avail. I unmapped the UltiSid and set socket 1 to $D400. Audio mixer are all at 0 dB. I am using the video out not HDMI.

If I disable the socket and unset the socket 1 address and enable $D400 for UltiSid I do get sound.

It did seem to work when I mounted a .d64 before, but now it's awfully quiet. If I run a .prg directly from the USB drive, there is no audible sound from the SID. The same goes for "Run Disk" (which takes ages because it disables the fastloader cartridge).

Any suggestions?

How do you have the audio from the a/v port connected?

@Grrrolf The U64 is connected via the A/V plug with a cable called "C64 TV Cable S-Video (S-VHS, Mini-DIN) incl. Audio Output" to an old LCD TV. With the UltiSid enabled instead of the real SID chip everything works fine.
