SUGGESTION: Run app in menu bar #4

I really like the potential for this app.  However, one enhancement I'd
like to recommend is to have the app run in the menu bar (the area up near
the clock and BlueTooth/Wireless indicators).  Since the app makes perfect
use of Growl notifications, having the app run in memory and not display in
the Dock seems like a natural marriage.

Keep up the good work and I'll be watching this project closely.

Yeah, a menu bar extra was kind of my original vision for the program.  I'll 
probably move in this direction as I 
stabilize things.

Not sure why I marked this as wont-fix.  I still do intend to offer a menu bar 
extra + growl alerts only type of 
interface.

I would like to see this as well. I'm not always in front of my mac to see a 
Growl notification pop up if a friend 
comes online. I am near it when watching tv...if there was an icon of some sort 
in the menu bar that could 
change colour to advise me a friend was online, that would be great. Perhaps a 
number beside it telling me 
how many are online, and by clicking it, it says who is online? There is a 
great app out there called Library 
Books that runs on this concept, sorta. Here is a link:

And I've attached a few screenshots of the app...in this case, the star in my 
menubar. It turns green when I 
have books on hold ready for pickup. Perhaps an X that turns green when a 
friend comes online?
