Tracks YouTube video engagement statistics

EYTS periodically collects the number of subscribers, views, likes, dislikes and comments for selected YT videos and channels. EYTS collects all data by manual construction of GET requests to the YT API. EYTS does not use the standard toolset present in google-api-python-client.

Currently used by mathematics EduTech company OneonEpsilon, to produce an estimate of hours of mathematics videos watched on YouTube each month.

• Extracts video metadata and timeseries for every video posted in history of tracked YT channel
• Automatic tracking of new videos posted to a tracked channel

Requirements

• Postgres database matching schema implicit in code
• YT API key, placed in apikey.txt in directory parent to repo
