What You'll Do (Job Description)
You'll be working with a team of developers creating innovative solutions to address the safety of at-risk and lone workers. On any given day you may be:
Adding new features to our mobile apps (native iOS and Android) and/or the backing services (Python / Flask)
Improving the stability and robustness of our applications
Defining and implementing new processes to increase our efficiency and development velocity
Managing work by helping with Sprint planning, retrospectives or mentoring other devs
Liaising with outside contractors and partners to build new features or integrations to 3rd party systems
Troubleshooting technical issues with help from our customer support team
What You Need to Be Successful (Skills)
Must Have
Significant experience with at least some of the technologies in our stack (see About section)
Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new technologies / languages
Nice to Have
Preference will be given to iOS or Full-Stack python developers
DevOps experience - setting up and managing environments, AWS, etc.
Experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, whatever)
Experience developing mobile apps leveraging Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
SolusGuard builds hardware and software solutions to help protect at-risk and lone workers. Our current offerings include a small discreet Bluetooth panic button as well as mobile apps that can provide check-in monitoring services. In emergencies our app will alert a network of contacts and may even call 911.
While you will be working on SolusGuard products primarily, we also have a consumer version of the product called ORA.
Our current tech stack looks like this:
Native iOS and Android apps written in Objective-C and Kotlin/Java respectively
Backend services using Python and Flask backed by MongoDB
Plain old HTML & CSS (Bootstrap based) front-end (have experience with Front-end frameworks? I'm listening.)
AWS hosted infrastructure
If you are really hard-core, the firmware for our panic button is written in C
