Buying shield from shop with "Ask to equip new items" enabled causes soft lock #1912

When trying to buy the hylian shield from the kokiri shop and then later the deku shield from the kak bazaar (as child), when the prompt came up to ask if I wanted to equip item now, they would automatically equip themselves before I would click anything and then the game would be stuck on that prompt. Clicking yes or no does nothing. Unsure if this is limited to just shield or if only shields as child or if swords/adult link buying shields also soft lock. More testing would need to be done to check those.

i just tried this locally and wasn't able to repro, any extra repro steps would be greatly appreciated!

I could share my spoiler log and .json file to see if it's a combination of settings or something that just isn't working together. But for the first shield all I had done was leave Links house, went to shop, bought shield. It was the first thing I did.
