The "No forced dialog" option is supposed to skip only forced conversations with NPCs or Navi, but with Navi it also skips optional, situational alerts.
Example: When entering the Deku Tree for the first time, you can cross over the web in the middle to get to the vines on the other side.
"Navi" appears when you cross the web, and you can press C-Up to listen. This is not forced.
Conversely, the hint Navi gives you about climbing vines when you approach them is forced.
Turning on the "No forced dialog" enhancement setting should only mean the latter conversation gets skipped, not the former, because the latter is the only conversation that is forced. Instead, both get skipped.
