Currently we have a separate command-line program (ImSync) that allows one to acquire images bidirectionally while operating the positioner in a mode of constant oscillation. There was some intent to support bidirectional mode from the Imagine GUI, but this was never finished. Steps to support bidirectional imaging in Imagine:
[ ] integrate the positioner control features of ImSync
[ ] set up a microcontroller for real-time exposure and laser pulse triggering based on z axis position
Closing because I decided to take a different approach to this issue: running a calibraiton experiment to establish correct image timings rather than relying on real-time control with a microcontroller.
