Records in Contexts-Conceptual Model (RiC-CM) GitHub repository

This is the public GitHub repository that holds the documents and information on ICA Records in Contexts Conceptual Model (RiC-CM).

RiC-CM is a high-level conceptual model that focuses on intellectually identifying and describing records, the people that created and use(d) them, and the activities pursued by the people that the records both facilitate and document.

The latest version of RiC-CM is RiC-CM 1.0, that was published by ICA/EGAD on November 30, 2023.

This version is available for download here.

It is also available in the 'current-version' subfolder of this repository.

The previous versions of RiC-CM are available in the 'previous-versions subfolder of this repository.

This repository also contains, in the 'feedback' subfolder, the following documents:

• the consolidated feedback created by Kat Timms, former member of EGAD, from the comments received in 2016-2017 on RiC-CM 0.1 (PDF file);
• an overview of this consolidated feedback presented by Kat Timms in October 2017 during a conference in Rome (slides in PDF format);
• an Excel file that contains all the comments received about RiC-CM 0.2 with the answers provided by ICA-EGAD.

This repository is used to collect feedback on RiC-CM. To create a new issue, you need to have a GitHub account.

Alternatively you can:

• send your feedback directly to egad@ica.org
• use the 'Records in Contexts users' group to share your thoughts and proposals, ask questions, inform the community about your projects.

RiC-CM 1.0 comes with:

• the Foundations of Archival Description, RiC-FAD. The latest official version of RiC-FAD is RiC-FAD 1.0, that was published on November 30, 2023. This version is available here: https://github.com/ICA-EGAD/RiC-FAD.
• an OWL ontology, RiC-O. The latest official version of RiC-O is RiC-O 1.0, that was published on December 30, 2023, and conforms to RiC-CM 1.0. This public version is available here: https://github.com/ICA-EGAD/RiC-O.
