So after a quick google search I was able to solve the startup issues with Virtual Box. Essentially MacOs users with Big Sur have to manually allow the program to operate via the System Preferences tab. I've provided a link below to the Stack Overflow thread that helped me arrive at this solution if anyone is still having similar issues.
