3-d print MC stack mount #208

Closed jakunesh closed 9 years ago

jakunesh commented 9 years ago

The new bot needs a way to mount the micro controller stack.

Hopefully we can use the same part as is on last years bot, so the first thing to do would be to find the appropriate .STL file and 3-d print that

amarron314 commented 9 years ago

The file is BEAGLEBONE CASE.stl in IEEE Ground Robotics > 2014 > CAD > STL > Structural

Every 3-d printer is currently down (Troxler, EBIII and EI Garage). I've talked to the garage managers of Troxler and the EBIII lab, hopefully they will be back up in a day or two. EI Garage is waiting on parts to come in

jakunesh commented 9 years ago

Troxler is still down, however it's just a nasty jam, couldn't get unclogged after letting it sit at 270 for a good while.

I've got it printing at the printer in eb3, been babysitting it for a couple hours and it's looking good. It will be done in the morning and I'll be out of town. If anyone is going to be on campus (who has access to the EI garage) I'd appreciate it being picked up up and putting it in the locker

jakunesh commented 9 years ago

As of 6:00 pm today (11/26) the 3-d printer in Troxler is working again if anyone is available and willing to print

abeisek commented 9 years ago

I printed Rubiks bottom holder on wednesday (Nov 26) . I gave BEAGLEBONE CASE and Rubiks bottom holder to Josh, he put printed parts into the locker in Troxler.

abeisek commented 9 years ago

Printer in EB3 is down, but printer in Troxler should be working.

jakunesh commented 9 years ago

Mount is printed succesfully, will re-open if it is found that the quality is not good enough

@amarron314 I found the .stl file for the beaglebone case, but do we have a solidworks part file for it? I wish to modify the part slightly to accept a different mounting pattern. Also, do we have a solidworks part file for the IR array square you created earlier this year?

cdyoder commented 9 years ago

This relates directly to issues #220 and #221. We can close three issues with one solution if we're smart.

Uploaded STL file of Beaglebone case to drive under "to Print" folder.
