MBF SPARC the MIT license we use is more appropriate to software (in terms of copying, sharing, reusing) and we agreed with the NIH at the beginning of the contract that osparc would have the MIT license. It is also one of the most open licenses possible for software. Hence we asked code submitters to choose their license but encouraged the MIT one for the above reasons. This is not a bug and does not impede FAIR-ness

DRC SIMCORE do we need to amend the dataset submission documentation to have a section on submitting OSPARC simulations with this license as an option? right now the documentation (https://sparc.science/help/7k8nEPuw3FjOq2HuS8OVsd) says only CC by 4.0 in the instructions. __
➤ DRC SIMCORE commented:
MBF SPARC I think it's ok because simulations are not submitted through the blackfynn platform - for the moment PI's contact us individually. Soon we will have a form on osparc where they can submit their code and at that point we will write a new documentation page about how that should be used. One of the fields of the form will be the license type. You're just too fast for us 😉

DRC SIMCORE alrighty! thanks for the clarification.

Can you provide a short description of what you were doing? browsing data & Simulations
Can you provide specific and detailed description? Dataset 4 doesn't have CC by 4.0 license. how come? https://sparc.science/datasets/4?type=simulation
How would you like the experience to improve? all SPARC data is supposed to be CC by 4, right?
