Sharing (Studies/Template) to member email address #890

Open elisabettai opened 1 year ago

Describe the user role I'm a new user of the platform (and so I'm not part of any organization)

Describe the goal I want to share a study with a collaborator that I know has an account on the platform and gave me his email address. I cannot simply use the email address to share.

Describe the benefit I can share a study/template with a collaborator without having to create an organization

Additional context It actually happened in a real context: a new user wanted to share a study with me and EN, but he wasn't able to do so until I added him to a common organization. EN suggested to have a way to share a study as you add users with Skype.

@odeimaiz, let me know if this makes sense and if you see any drawback to sharing studies via email address. I'm also not sure if that's purely a frontend feature request.

It might make sense, when this user shares the study will not have any feedback in the share icon on study card thou.

It's almost a pure backend feature request.

Feedback from the 2024 FAIR Codeathon: I had to explain again and again how to simply share studies directly with a user.

Again, we had first-time users of the platform, who were not able to see any other user, because they had no organization in common. Direct share via email address (as described above), would make things much easier.
