To avoid discarding plenty of artistic work on fast changes on the project, I propose this safe heaven to vote themes and references.
This issue is meant to be long-term and will be edited over time.
The overall game mood during the early stages of the game should convey the following themes (please vote by adding/editing a comment):
1 - Enigmatic 2 - Scary 3 - Crazy 4 - Happy 5 - Fun 6 - Magic 7 - Dark 8 - Chill
Current setup:
Chill & happy, slowly going downward toward dark & gloomy. Enigmatic all the way.

I liked the proposal of having the game start out happy/chill and progress toward something more dark and gloomy. There could also be rooms that deviate from the norm but I think that's a good general goal to aim for.
