OpenJK through steam #439

Every time I try to get this to load as opposed to Steams loading of jamp.exe, it doesn't.

Am I missing something incredibly dumb here??

How are you loading OpenJK through Steam? What happens when you try?

Trying to use argument but it doesn't work

What is the command to run as an argument with the original jamp??

And we kinda need more than just "doesn't work". What is the issue. Can't find assets or something else? Where did you put openjk files?

I use openjk as a non steam shortcut but I don't use the assets from steam though.

right well I dumped openjk in the right folder, because if i launch the game normally, and go to load mods, its there as an option.

The argument I am using is this:

Steam Library -> Right click on SWJKA Properties -> General Tab -> Set-Launch Options -> without quotes "fs_game openjk". Like how you would ask a server to load JA+?

Try : "+set fs_game openjk" instead

Yep +set is required for startup parameters. With steam or without.

So I am a little confused as to what you are doing with openjk. Are you just trying to use the gamecode mod portion (fs_game) because that isn't really the bulk of what openjk is. It's the jamp.exe and jasp.exe replacements.

I want steam to launch these files instead of jamp. How could I get steam to launch openjk rather than jamp??

You either replace the exes with the openjk versions or you don't and you make a non steam shortcut to them.

Yet another issue that isn't an issue...

You should use the forums or IRC for asking for help. Not flood issues that never go away. (they cannot be deleted, only closed)
