JA+/JA++ mods don't work #500

Closed ghost closed 10 years ago

ghost commented 10 years ago

The in-game menus seem to be affected by the mod, however, the actual gameplay is not. Furthermore, the JA++ menus are distorted.

Going to need more info. How are you verifying that the features aren't working? Are you trying on the server or the client? What is the value of japp_version on each?

ghost commented 10 years ago

As I've said, I can see the modified menus, but that's all there is to it. I'll post the japp_version later today.

As a sidenote, where should I put the mod files - in the game directory, or the .local/share/openjk folder?

Razish commented 10 years ago

In the game directory. ~/.local/share/openjk is the write directory, containing configuration files, screenshots, logs, etc.

What features are you testing? Are they client or server features? Have you downloaded the right binaries for your system? Are they being loaded? (you should see something in the console regarding VM_Create)

1) there is no such thing as a Linux version of the JA+ client "plugin" mod.

2) sounds like incorrect installation of JA++ which Raz0r will have to help with.

3) belongs on the JA++ issue list.

ghost commented 10 years ago

Is it possible to run JA++ without JA+ then?

You should read the directions of the mod you are trying to use. It is recommended that you don't have JA+ and JA++.

Besides, you cannot possible have JA+ at all, you are running linux other... than the conflicting assets with JA++.
