Cinematics' sound is warped on Linux x86_64 #577

The problem occurs only on the LucasArts, Activision and Raven cinematic right before the main menu.

Is this for Jedi Outcast?

grepwood commented 10 years ago

Yes it is.

ensiform commented 10 years ago

It's not specific to Linux /64.

As far as I thought it was just that way in the original.

grepwood commented 10 years ago

I checked it on a Windows XP VM with original JOSP and it shouldn't sound like it does with OpenJK.

ensiform commented 10 years ago

Well the cinematics code isn't really broken or different so...

64 bit SP is still not recommended due to saves not being cross-arch compatible.

xycaleth commented 10 years ago

Still a valid bug and we've not noticed it before.

grepwood commented 10 years ago

Problem persists in Jedi Outcast. SDL sound is initialized with 44.1 kHz right before the playback of affected cinematics begins.

redsaurus commented 10 years ago

At least for me, there is still some minor stuttering on the logos, but that occurs even with the correct (i.e. 22kHz) settings, and I suspect it's because of stuff loading in the background. When played with /cinematic openinglogos there are no problems. If the problem has really persisted reopen the issue.

I wonder if this "fixes" or at least improves the JASP dfmod startup roq.
