Double check all instances of style colors are readable #10

Pointed out to me with the close button in a light-based theme, the x is white on a light gray background. Should do a sweep of these and make sure similar issues get wrapped up.

The modal was the only really outstanding issue here, but text that goes right onto the background in the candy is a bit hard to read. I'll make a text background part of the theme so that themes with busy site backgrounds can give some text backdrops

Exposed an --optional-text-backdrop css variable. Themes can define the backdrop behind normally "top-level" text, but don't have to
