Crashes if not connected to the internet?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Disconnect Wii from your internet connection.
2.Start VBA.
3.It crashes.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'm expecting it to let me go ahead and pick a game and etc, but it'll just
crash within a few seconds of launching the emulator.

Does this issue occur on VBA-M r781
(http://vba-m.ngemu.com/vbam/vbacompiles/msvc2008/VisualBoyAdvance781.7z)?
If so, please report the issue to the VBA-M forum.
Haven't tried.

What version are you using? On GameCube or Wii?

Yes. (The most recent one)

Please provide any additional information below.
I've tried to use the emulator at my friend's, and it wasn't crashing when
I had my Wii connected to his internet. Here at home where I don't have a
decent enough connection for my Wii to use, it'll crash. 
(I was having this same issue with the FCEU and SNES9x, but the recent
update with those seems to have fixed that. O_o )
