shortcut does not work in mac powerpoint #23

I follow this guide to set up shortcut of IguanaTex.

Q: Can I use keyboard shortcuts to add or edit equations?

A: Yes, on PowerPoint 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2016, but you cannot choose the shortcut (sorry). "Add" and "Edit" commands (and all other commands on the ribbon) can be made accessible through the "Quick Access Toolbar", which is the toolbar at the top left of the PowerPoint window. To add them to that toolbar, right-click on each command in the IguanaTex tab of the ribbon, and choose "Add to Quick Access Toolbar": the commands will then be available directly from the top of the PowerPoint window, as well as through keyboard shortcuts of the form "Alt + Number". Press Alt once to see which number is associated to which command. In combination with Alt+G to (re)generate the display, this is very handy.

but when I add lgunanTex to quick access toolbar, and clicking "save" as the picture below. there is not new items in quick bar. does this way does not work in mac powerpoint? Untitled

I can confirm that this also doesn't work on my end. The changes do not stick when clicking Save. I do not know if Office for Mac supports adding add-in macros to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT). I looked around but haven't been able to find any information regarding non-native commands. I looked at the customUI file that saves the QAT settings on Windows and Mac. The windows one defines a reference to the PPAM file, giving the full path of the file. I have no idea if this kind of reference is supported on the Mac. I will try to ask this question on Microsoft forums.

The only answers I got so far on the Microsoft forum suggested to specify which commands to add to the Quick Access Toolbar within the add-in, instead of letting the user decide what they would like to see there.

I hadn't considered this until now because I thought that the user may have strong preferences as to what is shown in the QAT, and also because it was trivial to add commands to it on Windows, but I will try to include this. If it is possible (as I hope it is) for the user to easily remove from the QAT the commands I added, then I think this is a good solution. More people may actually get to use the QAT, which is indeed useful as it opens the possibility for the user to call IguanaTex commands using keyboard shortcuts.

An update on this: after more discussion on the Microsoft forum, I found out that it is not possible to customize the QAT from the add-in as had been suggested, and that the behavior @A6669 reported on Mac is a known bug that has been reported to Microsoft. See Jamie Garroch's response at the bottom of page 2. I encourage everyone interested in this feature to report it in the app to bump it up on Microsoft's roadmap.

2 years later... I just subscribed to O365 for my personal machines and tried the latest version (16.89.1 24091630) on my MBP, and sadly, this bug still hasn't been fixed. Come on Microsoft...
