FYI Lnu offers 2 NEW Industry PhD position related to Software Applications using AI and Big Data

Together with our industry partners, Linnaeus University (Lnu, https://lnu.se) is proud to announce two open PhD student positions within our Industry Graduate School on Data Intensive Applications (DIA, https://lnu.se/DIA). DIA is part of the Linnaeus University Excellence Center on Data Intensive Sciences and Applications (DISA, https://lnu.se/DISA) one of the profiled research areas at Lnu.

DIA recruits the new industrial doctoral students for our partner companies Electrolux and Sigma Technology. The planned research uses applied data-intensive methods, such as artificial intelligence, proactive maintenance, and digital twins. The new doctoral students will meet students from other companies participating in DIA include Combitech (1 PhD student), HL Design (1), Scania (1), Softwerk (1), and Virtual Manufacturing (2), and Volvo CE (2).

The application period closes on June 11 (Sigma Technology) and June 20 (Electrolux), respectively. It is ok to apply for both positions.

IoT Technologies Research

Ericsson Research (ER) is expanding the section working with Internet of Things (IoT) device research and is looking for new team members. The section's charter is to create novel concepts and technologies, do proof-of-concept prototyping, be a strategic eco-system influencer, serve as a pool of expertise supporting strategy, business and standardization functions within the Ericsson group, and to create strategically important intellectual property. IoT devices are key in any IoT solution and include end-devices that can be anything from very capable to extremely constrained as well as IoT gateways connecting the devices to the networks.

Molnett is looking for a student to do their Master Thesis within Cryptography and Distributed Computing. We are exploring the space of Key Management Systems within encryption and how we can develop a framework for how companies, who cannot rely on major cloud providers, can run one themselves. You'll be working together with multiple Senior SREs from companies like Google, King, Spotify, Embark and the entire result will be published in full with a Apache or MIT license.
