Yosemite compatibility

Hi I'll be glad to hear some opinions from using Yosemite on 573G. Is there any additional issues comparing Mavericks? What about Continuity function? Is it working and is bluetooth needed?

I'm gonna try it after official release, but maybe someone has beta alredy?

I've already tried once with a early dp version. Generally there's no compatibility problem. And Bluetooth is not absolutely necessary.

Ok, I did some research on Handoff compatibility and macs with bluetooth 4.0/LE can support it. The only hackintosh supported half pcie combo card that I've found is AW-CE123H / BCM94352HMB which costs 40$ on ebay.

i've already installed the release version of Yosemite. all the things seems to work perfectly! have a try!

_Notice_: don't forget to put necessary Kexts(FakeSMC, VoodooPS2) into kexts folder of Clover, add the tag "-kext-dev-mode=1" to the boot args of Clover, so that Clover will load the kexts in the folder. I think next version of Clover may fix that, no panic :laughing:

_Notice Again_: prepare a Clover-USB-Stick and change the Legacy Mode to finish the Installation!!! then change back to UEFI (A problem as always. :cry: )

I just finished installing Yosemite, and none of the kexts work. On Mavericks I installed it through KexBeast and everything was working fine - even after restoring system from time machine backup I didn’t have to install them again.

i don't know if kextbeast works, but I tried kext utility, it doesn't work definitely... Then I tried the newest version of kext wizard (3.7.11) which claims support Yosemite. It did work! After installing the kexts, make sure to rebuild the cache!

But the the kext for on-the-flying AppleHDA doesn't work temporarily... You may try find a modified AppleHDA.kext of Yosemite for out sound chip (alc282)

Ok, keyboard now working with your method (using clover and proper boot flags). Can You explain me why we have to do it this way? Why simply installing voodoops2 kext doesn’t work? And the most important question. Did you enable sound?

Ok, I've got sound. For all of You interested: Download AppleHDA for ALC282 and HDAEnabler3 from link below and simply install it through kext wizard: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298663-applehda-for-yosemite-dps/

I'm looking forward for @Kaijun to comment on this situation. I'm very curious why keyboard was't working by installing kext and what happened with sound.

@Majkwin i think it's still the problem with Clover or problem with the Kext Installers, the way to rebuild cache may be different as Mavericks, so even though after you installing the kexts, they won't be loaded in order.

wait till the tools upgrade and we will see if all things become normal again :laughing:

@Majkwin i remade a new DummyHDA.kext for patching the AppleHDA. it works now! delete the old the AppleHDAIDC.kext and install the new one (DummyHDA.kext). Plz use the DSDT which is packed in the new Clover i provided.

PS: i found that Kext Utility works, i misunderstood because that i wasn't using the "kext-dev-mode=1" after using Kext Utility. :)

One more question. I had to install hdaenabler in order to get sound working, but I don’t see it in kext wizzard under „Loaded kext” tab. Is there any way to delete it?

hdaenabler has the same function as injecting the "device-id 0x03" in DSDT. i've already done that in the newest DSDT.

you mean you can't delete the hdaenabler? plz use Terminal. sudo rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/HDAEnabler3.kext after that rebuild your cache

Yes, it’s working without any problems. One more thing from me :D Is AppleHDAIDT default system kext, or is it from my time machine backup from mavericks? Should I remove it as well?

@virusak , have you enebled imessage? On mavericks i just called apple and everything was working fine, but now on 10.10 i managed to log in (both in imessage and facetime), but in imessage i'm getting " number xxx is not registered with imessage" error, while on iphone everything works.

I just installed iOS 8.1 and with Yosemite You can call and text from PC even without Bluetooth. You just need to enable iMessage and Facetime properly.

Another tip. To bypass Preview.app issues use Xee. It used to be free (not anymore), but for basic functionality we can use old version which can be found here: https://code.google.com/p/xee/downloads/detail?name=Xee2.2.zip&can=2&q=

already found the solution for the Preview.app:

run these 2 commands in terminal:

# Patch libCLVMIGILPlugin for HD4400 OpenCL / OpenGL
sudo perl -i.bak -pe 's|([\xFF\xFC\x3D])\x86\x80\x12\x04|$1\x86\x80\x16\x0A|sg' /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenCL.framework/Libraries/libCLVMIGILPlugin.dylib
sudo codesign -f -s - /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenCL.framework/Libraries/libCLVMIGILPlugin.dylib

The perl command will automatically create a backup under libCLVMIGILPlugin.dylib.bak Note when patching make sure that you are booting with kext-dev-mode=1 to ensure unsigned kexts will load properly.

I've just installed Yosemite 10.10.1, but when I'm trying to sing into the app store it says "Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance."

I've already installed Realtek 8111 (1.2.3) kext, and the internet is fully working. Any ideas?

OK, I got that one. Anybody whith the same problem:

1. Delete all network devices in System Preferences -> Network
2. Delete the file "/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist"
3. Restart the system
4. Add the Ethernet device FIRST (at System Preferences -> Network)
